İngilizce de Soru Yapma
1) Be (am, is, are, was, were) ve kipliklerin (can, may, will, vb.) bulunduğu tümceleri soruya çevirmek için bunlar tümcenin başına getirilir.
I can swim. Can I (you) swim?
They will come tomorrow. Will they come tomorrow? She was at home. Was she at home?
2) Kiplik ve be yoksa do, does (simple present) ve did (simple past) kullanılır.
We like bananas. Do we like bananas? He gets up late. Does he get up late?
They wrote the letter. Did they write the letter?
Bu iki küme sorulara yanıt vermek için yes ya da no ile başlamak gerektiğini anımsamalıyız. Ayrıca, do, does
ve did ile kipliklerin soru yapmak için aynı tümcede kullanılmayacakları da açıktır.
3) Birden çok yardımcı eylem ve kiplik varsa soru için birincisi tümcenin başına alınır.
He can have finished it. Can he have finished it?
It will have been completed. Will it have been completed?
4) Yukarıdaki kiplik ve yardımcı eylemlerden önce soru sözcükleri kullanılabilir. (what, where, when, why, vb.)
What are you doing?
When will they go tomorrow? When did he come yesterday?
How can we help him?
Önemli nokta, soru sözcüğünün yanıtını aradığı öğeyi tümceden çıkarmaktır:
Örn.
He works in the library every day. Who works in the library every day? Where does he work every day? When does he work in the library?
5) Soru sözcükleri özne yerine kullanıldıklarında do kullanılmaz.
Who left the door open? Which is more expensive?
What happened?
6) ingilizce de değil mi karşılığı eklenti soru (tag question) yapmak için kiplik ve yardımcı eylemler kullanılır.
Bunlar olmadığında do kullanılır. Olumlu tümceler için olumsuz, olumsuz tümceler için olumlu eklenti soru sorulduğuna dikkat edilmelidir.
It is cold, isn't it?
She can speak French, can't she? The meeting hasn't started, has it?
You like apples, don't you?
I gave you a check, did I?
I didn't give you a check, did I? I am late, aren't I?
They haven't seen me, have they? They have seen me, haven't they? She could do it, couldn't she?
She couldn't do it, could she?
Fakat:
Let's go, shall we?
Give me a hand, will you? Do sit down, won't you?
